The following Terms and Conditions apply to our on-campus Part-Time Jobs Fairs.
Separate details for the fairs we charge an attendance fee for can be found here.
Our Online Careers Fairs T&Cs can be seen here.
Bookings will not be guaranteed until a booking form has been received and we send you a booking confirmation. Only plots/tables that are allocated by the Careers & Employability Service may be used, and these areas may differ depending on the venue.
We cannot offer parking for all of the Careers Fairs as they will be held in different locations. Those held at our Lansdowne Campus, such as the Health & Social Sciences Fair, will not have parking provisions. Where parking has been made available, only ONE parking permit will be allocated per organisation. We will contact you several weeks before the event with details for this. If you have note notified us in advance we cannot guarantee you a space.
Electricity/Audio Visual/Sound Equipment
No music may be played, or amplified sound permitted at the Fair without prior permission. There are limited number of power points available to exhibitors in the venue. These power points will be allocated on a first come first served basis and no power can be supplied on the day if not requested on the booking form. Confirmation of power point allocation will be sent in the final information pack. Please note that you are required to bring your own extension leads. Any exhibitor's own electrical equipment (including extension leads) that is brought into the University must be fully tested and marked in accordance with electrical testing regulations e.g. portable appliance test and carry the appropriate sticker. Any equipment that requires an exceptionally high or three-phase power supply will not normally be allowed. The University reserves the right to check any exhibitor's electrical equipment and to refuse its use if deemed unsuitable or unsafe.
Health and Safety
All areas of the fair shall remain alcohol free and visitors should observe the University's No Smoking Policy at all times. Visitors are not permitted to bring any item onto the University's premises that could endanger others (e.g. hazardous equipment such as gas cylinders, halogen gas or poorly maintained equipment). The University reserves the right to check any exhibitor's electrical equipment and to refuse its use if deemed unsuitable or unsafe.
All visitors are under a duty of care to report situations they believe to be potentially hazardous. In the context of fire prevention this may be something which could lead to an outbreak of fire (e.g. unsafe storage of flammable materials) or something which could hinder the safe evacuation of the premises in the event of a fire (e.g. obstruction of fire escapes). All staff attending the event on behalf of your organisation should have received appropriate health and safety training e.g. manual handling training and are responsible for their own health and safety.
All organisations attending the event must hold full public and employee liability insurance.
Please do not leave any item unattended and ensure your area is secure at all times. Exhibitors are responsible for any equipment they bring onto the University campus. Neither the Careers & Employability Service nor Bournemouth University will accept liability for any stolen/damaged equipment and personal property used in connection with your participation in the event. At the end of the event please arrange for all equipment and surplus brochures/promotional material to be removed.
If for any reason the Careers & Employability Service cancels all or any part of the Fair, their liability shall be limited to the refund of any payments made by the exhibitor to the Careers & Employability Service. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason then please notify us immediately.
No exhibitor may take or receive any monies whether by cheque, cash or credit card. Distribution of marketing or promotional material is restricted to the exhibitor's designated area. Individuals and/or companies may only use their table to exhibit their own products or services and not those of any third party. Careers & Employability Service reserves the right to remove from display any exhibitor's material deemed unsuitable. In order to comply with the Data Protection Act, please use any personal information obtained at the Careers Fair solely for its stated purpose. It must not be passed on to any third party. Careers & Employability Service reserves the right to ask an exhibitor to leave the premises if they are found in breach of these terms and conditions and may be prevented from attending future events at Bournemouth University.
